Propaganda refuses to consider that marijuana is no worse for society then many of the legal drugs available at every grocery store or gas station in this country. The abuse of prescription drugs and alcoholism is far more dangerous than smoking marijuana but propaganda continues to focus its attack on marijuana. If there are commercials being made depicting marijuana in a negative way to children, there should be commercials being made depicting alcohol and tobacco in a negative way as well. Advertisements promoting alcohol can be found all over including commercials on TV, magazines, newspapers and even highway billboards. The propaganda about marijuana plays a large role in influencing the public’s perception about the drug and is a main reason for the continued prohibition and arrests of millions of productive tax paying citizens. People are easily influenced and the propaganda has manipulated the facts in order to promote a private agenda. A group of people have used their private opinions and thoughts about marijuana to generate one-sided propaganda that has shaped the public’s perception regarding the drug. |
